Job summary

KBS Builders is seeking an experienced construction estimator to join our estimating and sales support team. You will develop estimates for residential and commercial projects, maintain pricing and cost standards, and balance cost with constructability to deliver value to customers.

As part of a fast-growing modular construction company, you will analyze documents, create material schedules, and collaborate with finance, purchasing, and operations to keep projects on time and on budget.

Qualifications

• Verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in MS Office or related software.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Preferred background in Construction.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to read prints and specs.
• Create concise scopes of work.
• Knowledge of construction practices in all trades.
• Familiarity with Planswift or equal on screen take off program.

Responsibilities

• Work with the sales team to develop estimates for residential and commercial projects.
• Maintain pricing programs and cost standards.
• Develop creative solutions that balance cost, ease of construction, and value to customers.
• Analyze construction documents and develop plans to ensure projects are delivered on-time, on-budget, and meet customer expectations.
• Routinely review cost standards for kits and assemblies.
• Assist finance and purchasing to maintain inventory costs in our ERP.
• Work with purchasing and operations teams to create material schedules for projects.
• Other tasks as assigned.
