Ideal candidates have 2–4 years’ related experience, knowledge of low/med voltage AC motors, safe work practices, and proficiency with SAP and MS Office; forklift experience preferred. This role emphasizes hands-on assembly and adherence to procedures.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of low/medium voltage AC motors preferred.
• Strong mechanical assembly experience.
• Ability to understand and follow written procedures.
• Ability to use and operate manual tools and power tools.
• Forklift operation experience preferred.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office software.
• SAP and other business software experience is preferred.
• Ability to complete assigned modification jobs without assistance.

Responsibilities

• Modify electric motors as per customer specification.
• Deliver finished product to designated shipping area.
• Process completed production orders and quality inspection sheets in SAP daily.
• Support the Mod Shop Lead in projects to achieve on-time delivery goals.
• Perform tasks in a safe environment while using all necessary PPE.
• Complete daily equipment operation checklists.
• Complete daily cleaning assignments.

About the role:

WEG Electric Corp. has a great opportunity for a Modification Technician to join our team in Portland OR. This role provides in-house modifications to electric motors.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Modify electric motors as per customer specification.
• Deliver finished product to designated shipping area
• Processing of completed production orders and quality inspection sheets in SAP daily.
• Support the Mod Shop Lead in projects to achieve on time delivery goals.
• Perform tasks in a safe environment while using all necessary PPE
• Complete daily equipment operation checklists
• Complete daily cleaning assignments

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

• Ability to follow test equipment procedures and interpret test results
• Ability to identify physical nonconformities on AC motors
• Knowledge to properly identify materials & components for modifications
• Ability to assist fellow technicians on modifications

Experience:

• 2 to 4 years of related experience
