Job summary

WEG Electric Corp. in Houston is seeking a Modification Technician to perform in-house motor modifications and support continuous improvement in the Mod shop.

You will modify motors per customer specifications, generate reports using Word and Excel, and collaborate with visiting engineers, QA personnel, and warehouse staff to ensure accurate inventory placement. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, knowledge of low-voltage AC motors, safety procedures, and familiarity with inventory

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of low voltage AC motors.
• Ability to handle manual and power tools.
• Understand and follow safety procedures.
• Familiar with modification procedures.
• Familiar with the inventory control system.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Strong knowledge of industry certification requirements.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.

About The Role

WEG Electric Corp. has a great opportunity for a Modification Technician to join our team in Houston TX. This role provides in-house modifications to electric motors.

Primary Responsibilities

• Modify electric motors per customer specification.
• Produce reports and track activities performed in the Mod shop.
• Work with visiting engineers and QA personnel to evaluate possible factory issues.
• Be proficient enough with Word and Excel to produce reports and track activities performed in the Mod shop.
• Work in conjunction with the warehouse team to insure proper placement of modified motors in inventory.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Knowledge / Training

• Strong knowledge of low voltage AC motors.
