Job summary

A government contractor in aerospace engineering located in Colorado Springs is seeking an experienced engineer to provide support to the US Space Force's Orbital Test and Training Infrastructure division. The ideal candidate should have a background in aerospace, mechanical or electrical engineering, as well as programming and simulation experience. Compensation ranges from $100,000 to $145,000 based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits including medical and dental coverage, PTO, and 401k plans.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in aerospace, mechanical or electrical engineering, math and/or physics.
  • Current TS/SCI Clearance.
  • 3-10 years of experience in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering and analytics support to the US Space Force’s OTTI division.
  • Coordinate with intelligence community on threat models/data.
  • Draft and coordinate model standards.
  • Advise US Special Programs Office on modeling standards.
  • Manage model status and report on limitations.

Job description

Confident in your technical capabilities, willing to continue learning new technologies as mission needs are dynamic, and a desire to live in Colorado Springs, CO to work side‑by‑side with government counterparts on small agile teams to ensure our countries’ space assets are safe & mission effective.

You will

Provide engineering and analytics support to the United States Space Force’s Orbital Test and Training Infrastructure (OTTI) division. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Engineering decomposition of test/training requirements and scenarios into model requirements
  • Coordinate with the intelligence community and Federally Funded Research and Development Center for the development of threat models/data
  • Draft and coordinate model standards with the customers
  • Advise US Special Programs Office and the Intelligence community on modeling and simulation standards and development
  • Manage model status and development and report on status and limitations.
You have
  • Strong background in Aerospace, Mechanical or Electrical engineering, math and/or physics.
  • Strong knowledge of programming and modeling & simulation languages and environments (Simulink, AFSIM, Python, C++, etc)
  • Engineering and technical knowledge of space systems
  • Experience with US Space Force (USSF) or Department of War (DoW) mission operations (desired)
  • Experience with DoW requirements and system development (desired)
  • Current TS/SCI Clearance
  • The ideal candidate will have 3-10 years of experience

Compensation: Base Salary: $100,000 – 145,000, however this is commensurate with experience. Annual bonuses can be significant because they are based on the extent to which the employee drives profitability for the company.
