Job summary

SMS DATA PRODUCTS GROUP, INC. seeks a Modeling & Simulation Engineer to lead AFCENT network modeling efforts and support NOSC operations. You will develop network models from existing architectures, run simulations, and design wide area networks to improve interoperability and security.

The role requires 5+ years of relevant experience, CCNP/CCDP or ITIL, and DoD security considerations. Office location is at a U.S. base with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• B.S. in related field and 5 or more years’ relevant experience; or, 7 or more years’ relevant experience.
• Ability to identify organizational policy stakeholders
• Ability to integrate automated capabilities for updating or patching system software and develop patching processes for the operational environment
• Must possess experience with Microsoft server installation, roles, Active Directory, storage, performance management, and maintenance.
• Experience with Windows Server in Host/Compute Environments and server images.
• Experience with storage solutions, high availability, DNS, DHCP, network connectivity, remote access solutions, core and distributed network solutions, and monitoring server environments.

Responsibilities

• Utilize modeling and simulation tools to develop network models from existing architectures using network management data.
• Develop and run simulations to analyze the impact of technology integrations and changes in network architecture.
• Research and design wide area networks as new networks or to modify existing networks.
• Recommend changes/resolutions based on trend analysis from models.
• Provide technical support to technology upgrades to ensure interoperability with existing architecture.
• Identify opportunities to increase efficiency with automation across NOSC areas.
• Develop automation strategies and processes aligned with organizational objectives.
• Support network troubleshooting and enhancements by identifying sub-standard configurations.
• Coordinate with enclave engineering teams to design and automate network/systems processes.
• Integrate tools to manage networks using software to provision, configure, deploy, and test infrastructures.
• Develop and implement programming and automation tools to change and deploy infrastructures.
• Manage and configure advanced network management toolsets to collect data.
• Develop IT systems concepts of operations and engineering plans.
• Provide OCONUS deployment/TDY travel support as required.
