Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis Engineer

Full Time Washington, DC, US

Salary Range: $110,000.00 To $168,000.00 Annually

Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis Engineer

TULK is a boutique consulting firm delivering mission-focused systems integration, acquisition, engineering, analysis, and operational transition services to Defense and national-security customers. We build practical teams that connect mission needs, technology, acquisition decisions, and fielded operational effect.

Our work matters because capable technology only creates value when it is integrated, tested, supportable, and trusted by the people who use it.

The Role

Use modeling, simulation, and analysis to help decision makers understand mission effects, integration choices, capability gaps, operational risk, and the path to fielded results.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and apply mission-focused models, simulations, scenarios, experiments, and analyses that answer operational, engineering, integration, test, or acquisition questions.
  • Translate mission threads, operational effects, capability gaps, and system dependencies into analytic representations and defensible assessment approaches.
  • Design and execute scenario-based analyses; document assumptions, data inputs, limitations, verification, validation, and the confidence appropriate to the decision.
  • Work with operators, systems engineers, technical authorities, test personnel, program offices, and acquisition stakeholders to turn analysis into actionable recommendations.
  • Communicate analytic results clearly through concise decision products, briefings, visualizations, and technically sound recommendations.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in modeling and simulation, mission analysis, operations research, systems engineering analysis, digital engineering, test and evaluation, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated experience creating, adapting, applying, or governing models, simulations, analytic scenarios, experiments, or decision-support analyses for complex systems or missions.
  • Demonstrated understanding of model assumptions, data quality, verification, validation, uncertainty, and appropriate interpretation of analytic results.
  • Demonstrated ability to connect analytic work to integration, test, fielding, capability, acquisition, or operational decisions.
  • United States citizenship is required.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce concise, decision-ready technical products.
  • Applicants must provide specific examples of their personal technical delivery, including the mission or operational problem, their technical role, and the outcome.

What Makes an Application Stand Out

Show how you personally used modeling, simulation, scenario analysis, or experimentation to answer a real mission, technical, test, or acquisition question. Identify the decision, your role, the model or analytic method, the assumptions and evidence, and the resulting recommendation or outcome.
