Job description

Description

Are you passionate about improving Precision Strike capabilities for the United States warfighter?

Do you love solving complex problems with sophisticated modeling and simulation (M&S) tools?

Do you thrive in dynamic, collaborative, and fun work environments?

If so, we're looking for someone like you to join our team at APL!

We are seeking a Modeling and Simulation Integration Engineer to characterize and evaluate missile system performance against Precision Strike platforms in complex environments. We are a well-rounded and hardworking team of analysts and developers who support a wide range of government sponsors with many exciting technical problems. As a member of our team, you will develop and use high-fidelity simulation tools to conduct physics-based engagement-level and mission-level analyses, while collaborating with specialists and integrating M&S tools in other fields including (but not limited to): aerodynamics, GNC, propulsion, radar engineering, electronic warfare, software development, systems engineering, and more.

Responsibilities
  • Your primary responsibility will be to evaluate precision strike platform effectiveness by developing, using, and integrating together an assortment of medium to high fidelity engagement-level modeling and simulation tools across multiple technical specialty areas.
  • You will design and execute structured physics-based one-vs-one and one-vs-few simulation experiments to explore system performance, sensitivities, and trade spaces.
  • You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to use, develop, and improve detailed modeling capabilities.
  • You will build novel data visualization tools for large and complex data sets.
  • You will prepare and present formal documentation to technical specialists, operational partners, and Government sponsors.
Qualifications
