Job description

Position Overview

The Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Engineer will develop, deploy, and integrate M&S software to analyze combat system components. This role is collaborative, residing within a team of engineers and scientists dedicated to missile defense innovation.

Responsibilities
  • Work with cross‑functional research teams to recommend modeling and simulation approaches.
  • Architect integrated software solutions to optimize simulation workflows.
  • Develop integration layers for inter‑operability of software applications.
  • Create and maintain scripts to orchestrate large‑scale simulation runs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in software development and integration.
  • Proficiency in Python and C++ with well‑documented, efficient code.
  • Experience with software revision control (e.g., Git) and build systems (Make/CMake).
  • Comfortable using a debugger in a Linux environment.
  • Effective communication of ideas and results.
  • Must obtain an Interim Secret clearance and eligibility for Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred (Optional)
  • MS or higher degree in Engineering, Math, Computer Science or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, integration, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Competence in MATLAB, C++, Python, Java on Linux and Windows.
  • Knowledge of object‑oriented programming, templates, lambdas, and stream manipulation.
  • Proficiency in Linux shell scripting (bash, zsh, etc.).
  • Experience with parallel/multi‑threaded applications.
  • Experience with discrete‑time, event‑driven simulations.
  • Experience with distributed simulation technologies (DIS, AFSIM, HLA).
  • Experience with GPUs and CPU clusters.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML technologies and MLOps practices.
  • Experience with containerization (Podman, Docker).
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

Salary Range

Minimum Rate: $100,000 Annually
Maximum Rate: $245,000 Annually
