Job summary

Mount Indie is seeking a Threat Modeling and M&S specialist to support MSIC programs such as ITASE and/or TMAP. The role involves validating threat models, executing simulations, and driving process improvements in a fast-paced lab environment onsite at MSIC.

The candidate should have a STEM degree, 2–5 years in M&S, and be able to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance with CI poly within 6 months of hire. Strong communication and collaboration across multiple teams are essential.

Qualifications

• In-depth MSIC knowledge of TMAP, JSE and/or ITASE M&S environments.
• U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain DoD Top Secret clearance and CI poly within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Review threat model documentation for process improvement.
• Conduct threat model/architecture release testing.
• Analyze M&S performance for autonomous/industrial scenarios and compare with Intelligence data.
• Configure M&S scenarios using threat model docs and Intelligence data.
• Execute simulations with Constructive and Operator-in-the-Loop threat models.
• Perform batch runs by sweeping threat model parameters.
• Use GitLab for issue reporting and configuration management.
• Document test reports and improvement recommendations using MS Office.

Job description

Applicant will apply an understanding of modeling and simulation (M&S) techniques to perform threat model and scenario creation, validation and verification (V&V) testing, analysis, and process improvement for M&S programs such as ITASE and/or TMAP for the Missile and Space Intelligence Center (MSIC).

Job duties may include:

• Review of threat model documentation for identifying process improvement
• Threat model and/or architecture release testing
• Analyzing M&S performance of small to large autonomous and/or integrated scenarios, focusing on messages sent between simulation federates and comparing threat model performance to Intelligence data
• Configuring M&S scenarios using threat model documentation and Intelligence data
• Executing simulations with user-configured (“Constructive”) threat models as well as Operator-in-the-Loop (OITL) threat models
• Performing “batch” runs (i.e. more than one run) for scenarios by sweeping threat model parameters
• Using Gitlab Software Configuration Management for software issue reporting and file configuration management
• Using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for documenting test reports and results, and documenting identified M&S process improvement recommendations
• Using collaboration software such as MatterMost to clearly and effectively communicate with multiple teams between multiple labs and locations
• Candidate selected must:
• Efficiently manage personal tasking, make informed decisions with minimal supervision, and proactively seek out the necessary information to complete assignments
• Work in a fast-paced lab environment onsite at MSIC, interfacing routinely with both Contractor and Government employees
• Exercise effective technical written and oral communication with Program Management and teammates
• Multitask well, have a positive attitude, be highly motivated and a productive team player

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM field
• Minimum of 2 to 5 years related experience in M&S field
• In depth MSIC knowledge of TMAP, JSE and/or ITASE M&S environments
• U.S. Citizenship required. Active Secret clearance allowing for immediate MSIC lab access upon hiring.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret security clearance and the ability to successfully pass a CI poly within 6 months of hire date

Preferred Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph through DIA (i.e. existing clearance allowing for immediate MSIC SCIF access upon hiring)
• In-depth knowledge of MSIC SAM threat models
• Knowledge of MSIC C4 threat models
• Knowledge of MSIC M&S for Air/Land/Sea/Space domains
• Knowledge of threat model testing techniques
• Knowledge of Windows and Linux platforms for threat model development, execution, analysis, tool development
