Job description

ISSAC is seeking a highly motivated Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Analyst to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) in assessing the capabilities of the Missile Defense System (MDS). This critical role will involve working with Hardware-In-the-Loop (HWIL) simulation data in support of MDS Ground Test (GT) events, Continuous Developmental Integration (CDI) activities, and MDS Flight Tests. The focus will be hands‑on support for MDA's distributed software simulation framework, OSF.

Responsibilities

• Provide M&S framework analysis support for CDI activities, GT events, and Flight Tests.
• Perform analysis on the status of current and future capabilities in OSF.
• Review test data to detect and troubleshoot issues associated with simulation performance and accuracy.
• Ensure event data quality and integrity through verification and validation analysis of test data.
• Develop and run Python tools to support M&S analysis activities.

• Collaborate with teams of analysts and engineers to ensure the successful execution of test simulation campaigns.

Desired Qualifications

• Familiarity with MDA Ground Test CONOPS.
• Familiarity with Objective Simulation Framework (OSF).
• Knowledge of the HWIL architecture infrastructure truth presentation to element models (SMHR, signatures, environment).
• Knowledge of HWIL architecture infrastructure, including truth presentation utilizing Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) adapter, and/or Ground Test Integrated System Simulation (GTISS) adapter.
• Experience with data analysis libraries in Python (e.g., Pandas, NumPy).
• Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts.
• Familiarity with Cloud computing concepts.
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Grafana, Tableau, Power BI).
