Role Overview

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Model Technician Apprentice, in partnership with Milton Keynes College, to join our Aerodynamics department. You’ll learn to create the precision models used in our wind tunnel testing programme—an essential part of how we develop our race cars. Working alongside highly skilled technicians and engineers, this hands-on role offers real-world experience in elite motorsport.

Key Responsibilities

· Assist in manufacturing detailed wind tunnel components using 3D printing, and hand-finishing techniques.

· Interpret CAD models and engineering drawings to produce highly accurate parts and assemblies.

· Support the assembly, modification, and maintenance of aerodynamic test models within a Wind Tunnel environment.

· Learn key workshop processes including trimming, bonding, part preparation, and spray finishing.

· Work with a variety of materials including composites, rapid prototyping, and metals.

· Adhere to the team’s quality and safety standards in all tasks.

Training Provider: Milton Keynes College

The apprenticeship is delivered in partnership with Milton Keynes College.

· Attend block-release sessions at Milton Keynes College throughout the apprenticeship.

· Work towards a Level 3 Diploma in Model Making.

· Develop both traditional and cutting-edge model making skills through hands-on learning and specialist workshops.

· Be supported by experienced instructors and dedicated assessors, while gaining on-the-job experience with the Cadillac Formula 1 Team.

· Minimum of 5 GCSEs (grade 4/C or above) including Maths, English, and a science subject.

· A genuine interest in motorsport, engineering, or model making.

· Strong attention to detail and excellent hand skills.

· Enthusiastic, proactive, and willing to learn in a fast-paced environment.

· Some prior experience with hands-on work, model kits, or design projects is a plus but not essential.
