Job summary

BMO Financial Group in Chicago seeks a senior specialist to oversee model risk governance for a designated portfolio, developing and monitoring the framework to ensure compliance and timely reporting.

You will lead governance meetings, produce dashboards, and advise senior leaders on strategy, regulatory requirements, and risk management. 7+ years of experience and a related degree are expected.

Qualifications

• Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree.
• In-depth knowledge of the model life cycle and model risk management practices.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements.
• Experience with risk policy frameworks; quality control/testing.
• Verbal & written communication skills - strong.
• Analytical and problem solving abilities.
• Influence skills and cross-group collaboration.
• Data driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and maintenance of the governance system and framework.
• Provide strategic input to senior leaders on risk strategy and governance.
• Design, develop, and maintain risk reports and dashboards for stakeholders.
• Coordinate and manage regulatory reporting and attestations.
• Lead governance meetings and oversight for governing body mandates.
• Support planning for ongoing regulatory requirements and education/training needs.
• Mentor and develop team members; attract top talent.
