# Model/Pattern Maker1400 - Rochester Hills, MI 48307## Description**Job Summary**The Model Maker uses prints, drawings, specifications, or other means to create a model to a customer specification.**Duties and Responsibilities*** Constructing, assembling, or modifying parts, models, molds, and fixtures using manual and power tools.* Expertise in selecting and working with various materials, including plastics, metals, and composites.* Align, fit, and join parts using bolts and screws or by welding or gluing.* Cut, shape, and form parts using lathes, power saws, snips, power brakes and shears, files, and mallets.* Drill, countersink, and ream holes in parts and assemblies for bolts, screws, and other fasteners, using power tools.* Grind, file, and sand parts to finished dimensions.* Inspect and test products to verify conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments or circuit testers. Also includes Inspecting finished models for accuracy, troubleshooting, and testing functionality.* Lay out and mark reference points and dimensions on materials, using measuring instruments and drawing or scribing tools.* Other duties as assigned## QualificationsPrevious experience working in an automotive company making models. Must be able to read blueprints and interpret engineering drawings.
