Job summary

Torch Technologies, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to support system-level architecture and digital engineering governance for a next‑generation Army aviation platform. You will work on the FLRAA PMO with traceability from capability descriptions to allocated baselines.

The role emphasizes MBSE execution, design reviews, risk assessment, and coordination of program milestones in a high‑tempo defense environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Active Secret clearance and/or ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Clearance.
  • Experience with requirements analysis, traceability, verification, and validation, with MBSE tools preferably Cameo EA.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure traceability of requirements from FLRAA documents to baseline specifications using MBSE tools.
  • Conduct requirement analysis to ensure correct allocation and alignment across the specification tree.
  • Review technical documentation, verification plans and reports to ensure FLRAA requirements are met.
  • Support requirement trade studies and issue resolution during FLRAA development, integration, verification and validation events.
  • Assist in identifying program risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate changes to system requirements and contract requirements through FLRAA processes.

Torch Technologies is seeking a dedicated and experienced Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to support system-level architecture, requirements traceability, and digital engineering governance for a critical, next-generation Army aviation platform.

This position offers an exceptional opportunity to join a high-tempo, dynamic development program supporting the Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) Program Management Office (PMO) at a vital inflection point. As this flagship Major Defense Acquisition Program (MDAP) progresses through critical design, verification, and integration phases, you will serve as a core technical resource on the front line of digital systems engineering.

As a Model-Based Systems Engineer your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure the traceability of requirements from FLRAA Capability Description Document and platform performance specifications through the FLRAA functional and allocated baseline specifications utilizing MBSE tools.
  • Conduct requirements analysis to ensure correct allocation and alignment of requirements across the specification tree.
  • Review technical documentation, verification plans and reports to ensure fulfillment of all FLRAA requirements.
  • Support requirement trade studies for resolution of emerging issues during FLRAA development, integration, verification, and validation events.
  • Support execution of Critical Design Review(s), Technical Risk Assessments, test events and other technical reviews.
  • Assist in identifying program risks, issues, and opportunities related to cost, schedule, and technical performance; and developing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate the processing of changes to system requirements, configuration documents, or contract requirements through the established FLRAA governing processes.
  • Support development of Systems Engineering Plan, contract requirement package, and other program milestone documentation in accordance with DoD and Army policies, regulations, and instructions for a Major Defense Acquisition Program.
  • Coordinate the review, adjudication, and staffing of technical and programmatic documentation.
  • Provide status of SE efforts to program leadership as required.
  • Support technical personnel with review of model-based deliverables to support program milestones.
Required Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Active Secret clearance and/or ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Clearance.
  • Experience with conducting requirements analysis, traceability, verification, and validation, with MBSE tools preferably Cameo EA.
  • Working technical knowledge across multiple engineering disciplines, such as mechanical, electrical, and software engineering
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with project management and working within Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)
  • Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and DoDI 5000.02 Adaptive Acquisition Framework. Experience with ISO/IEC 15288 Systems and software engineering - System Life Cycle Processes is desirable.
  • Knowledge of and experience with the development, airworthiness qualification, integration, system level qualification, reliability and maintainability, fielding, and sustainment of engines, engine subsystems, or LRUs for Army aircraft. Skills, Competencies and Abilities:
    • Ability to manage complex development and engineering projects, work effectively with others, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
