Job summary

Penta Research seeks a full-time Model-Based Flight Software Developer to work onsite in Huntsville, AL. You will design and implement flight software using MATLAB/Simulink, and lead automated code generation with Embedded Coder.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and strong MATLAB/Simulink skills; preference for a Master’s degree and RTOS/C++ experience. The role requires an active Secret clearance and on-site collaboration.

Qualifications

• Proficient with MATLAB and Simulink.
• Knowledge of GitLab, configuration management and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Model-Based Flight Software Development: collaborate with the team to create robust flight software using MATLAB/Simulink.
• Automate Code Generation & Optimization: drive Simulink development and automate code generation via Embedded Coder.
• Rigorous Code Review & Presentation: conduct reviews and present findings and recommendations to the team.

Job Description & Position Responsibilities

Penta Research is seeking candidates to work full-time onsite on the flight software development team.

The candidate will perform:

• Model-Based Flight Software Development: Collaborate closely with the development team to create robust flight software using MATLAB Simulink, leveraging model-based design principles.
• Automate Code Generation & Optimization: Drive Simulink development and automate the generation of efficient and performative code and algorithms via Embedded Coder.
• Rigorous Code Review & Presentation: Conduct and participate in thorough code reviews, presenting findings and recommendations to the team.

Basic Qualifications

• Degree: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
• Proficient with:
  • MATLAB
  • Simulink
• DevOps: Knowledge of Gitlab, configuration management and DevOps practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree: Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field
