Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer to lead design and analysis for gas turbine hardware in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Experience with ANSYS and NX for mechanical design/analysis.
  • Proficiency in Python and Excel VBA for data analysis.
  • Lean mindset with familiarity with AI-driven tools and collaborative design.

Responsibilities

  • Design & Analysis: perform mechanical design and analysis (stress, modal, lifing) for gas turbine components and related systems.
  • Technical Stewardship: own mechanical hardware, conduct validation testing, and assess designs for thermal growth, manufacturing variation, and assembly stack‑up.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: work with engineering, manufacturing, and sourcing teams to optimize subsystems and components.
  • Continuous Improvement: lead root cause analyses to improve reliability, quality, and yield; apply Lean methods to streamline processes.
  • Project Delivery: manage milestones through technical reviews and ensure compliance with NPI practices.
  • Mentorship: coach team members and build strong stakeholder relationships including senior engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design & Analysis: Execute mechanical design and analysis (stress, modal, lifing) for assigned components in gas turbines, steam, generators, and accessory systems.
  • Technical Stewardship: Take ownership of mechanical hardware; perform validation testing; and evaluate designs for factors like thermal growth, manufacturing variation, and assembly stack‑up to ensure optimal product behavior.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering experts, manufacturing, and sourcing teams to optimize sub‑systems and components.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead root cause analyses (RCA) to improve reliability, quality, and yield. Apply Lean principles to streamline processes and drive innovation.
  • Project Delivery: Manage milestones through formal/informal technical reviews, ensuring compliance with NPI processes and design practices.
  • Mentorship: Foster a collaborative environment by coaching team members and building strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Principal and Chief Engineers.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related STEM field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant engineering experience.
Eligibility Requirements

This role requires access to U.S. export‑controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export‑controlled information from the U.S. Government.

Desired Qualifications
  • Additional 1‑2 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Technical proficiency in engineering software (ANSYS, NX) and programming languages (Python, Excel VBA) for data analysis.
  • A “Lean” mindset, familiarity with AI‑driven tools, and a passion for innovative design.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a collaborative, inclusive, and fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with a transparent approach to project management and problem‑solving.

Relocation Assistance Provided: Yes

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $89,300.00 and $148,700.00.

The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.

The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
