Job summary

HDR is seeking an Advanced Technology for Surface Transportation (ATST) & Funding Intern to help expand our services in the Midwest, with a focus on Missouri and Kansas. The position would report to the ATST and Funding Section in Kansas City, Missouri.

The individual supports all aspects of advanced technology projects including ITS, ACES vehicle projects, EV infrastructure planning, grant-writing, and geospatial analysis.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving.
• Strong communication skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Active participation in employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

• Support ITS and traffic management system projects across planning, design, integration, deployment, operations and maintenance.
• Assist with Automated, Connected, Electric, and Shared (ACES) vehicle projects and emerging technology initiatives.
• Support EV infrastructure planning and siting, grant-writing assistance, and geospatial analysis.
