ByteDance seeks a Mobility Operation Analyst Project Intern to support mobility programs from Seattle starting in 2026. You will serve as a subject matter expert for Employees, Candidates, HR, and stakeholders, designing mobility processes with Tax, Payroll, Legal, and Procurement while considering country, regional, and global requirements.

• Strong Excel skills (XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, formulas, reconciliation)
• Experience in data validation, audits, or operational reporting
• High attention to detail with quality and risk awareness
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple data cycles, meet deadlines
• Strong communication to explain data issues to partners
• Preferred: experience in mobility, benefits, payroll, or HR operations data
• Familiar with payroll or HR systems and data interfaces
• Experience with dashboards and data transformation tools
• Prior contractor or project-based experience in operations or data roles

Responsibilities

• Serve as subject matter expert and consultant to Employees, Candidates, Talent Acquisition, HR and key stakeholders, leveraging industry knowledge and acquired experience;
• Design and implement key mobility processes by working with global stakeholders including Tax, Payroll, Legal, and Procurement while taking into account country, regional, and global requirements;
• Work closely with the Performance & Incentives Team, as policy owners, to provide data driven insights to enhance policies and programs;
• Work in partnership with cross regional counterparts to achieve alignment and results;
• Serve as the process owner managing all Mobility vendors, including immigration, relocation, tax, and destination services to ensure processes are optimized and standards are adhered to.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field
• Strong Excel skills (e.g., XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, logical formulas, reconciliation models)
• Demonstrated experience in data validation, audits, or operational reporting
• High attention to detail with a strong quality and risk-awareness mindset
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple data cycles, and meet tight deadlines
• Strong communication skills to explain data issues and findings to cross-functional partners
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting mobility, benefits, payroll, or HR operations data
• Familiarity with payroll or HR systems and data interfaces
• Experience with process automation, dashboards, or data transformation tools

Job Information

The hourly rate range for this position in the selected city is $23.75- $23.75.

Benefits

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Interns have day one access to health insurance, life insurance, wellbeing benefits and more. Interns also receive 10 paid holidays per year and paid sick time (56 hours if hired in first half of year, 40 if hired in second half of year). Interns who are not working 100% remote may also be eligible for housing allowance.
