Job summary

The UCLA BruinCar/Motorpool program seeks a Project and Policy Analyst 2 to coordinate program operations, procurement, billing, and customer service under the Strategic Programs Manager. You will manage vehicle rentals, maintenance, fueling, and prepare reports while ensuring swift, high-quality service to campus users.

Responsibilities include developing policies, analyzing data for utilization and cost control, guiding staff, and communicating policy updates to the university community.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates knowledge of vehicle rental operations and customer service practices to effectively manage a client-oriented, user-responsive program and lead a motivated team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to explain policies, prepare clear correspondence, and engage with diverse stakeholders.
• Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain professional relationships with staff, students, administrators, vendors, and the public.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain punctuality and attendance standards.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, rental platforms, and troubleshooting operating systems; accurate with data entry and reporting.
• Demonstrates analytical and independent judgment skills sufficient to assess program effectiveness and make adjustments as needed.
• Ability to negotiate mutually agreeable solutions to conflicts between individuals or organizational units.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction and discern when action of a higher level is required.
• Ability to assess knowledge and abilities of personnel to adjust work assignments for productivity.
• Ability to interact with diverse backgrounds to obtain information and resolve complaints.
• Assist with budget preparation, management, reporting and cost control; knowledge of UC policies and procedures (preferred).
