Job summary

Vision To Learn is seeking a full-time Iowa Optician to join our mobile clinic team. You’ll perform eye screenings, take measurements, fit and dispense glasses to students, and help bring vision to classrooms in underserved communities.

Hours are Monday through Friday with 2–3 Saturdays per year. Candidates should have an Optician Diploma (COA/COT/NCLE/ABO a plus), a valid driver’s license, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Optician Diploma or equivalent required; COA/COT/NCLE/ABO preferred but not required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record; familiarity with greater Iowa geography is a plus.
• Experience working with children and diverse populations; Spanish skills a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee mobile eye clinic operations and ensure patient flow runs smoothly.
• Take measurements, fit and adjust frames per prescriptions.
• Assist patients with frame selections for optimal fit and satisfaction.
• Complete daily reports and meet deadlines; follow health and safety protocols.
• Dispense glasses to students and conduct vision screening with equipment.
• Support clinic setup, inventory, and vehicle maintenance as needed.
