Are you passionate about animals and skilled in diagnostic imaging? Patriot Paws Mobile Imaging is looking for a compassionate and experienced Mobile Veterinary Sonographer (RDMS) to join our team.

This flexible, field-based role allows you to make a meaningful impact in the veterinary community on your schedule. We provide full training in veterinary-specific ultrasound protocols and offer competitive compensation for your expertise.

We are currently looking for candidates based in Spring, The Woodlands, Conroe, Porter, and Northeast Houston.

Responsibilities

Perform Diagnostic Ultrasounds

• Conduct abdominal, cardiac, and small parts ultrasounds on companion animals (dogs, cats and exotic small animals) at veterinary clinics.
• Capture high-quality images for interpretation by a board-certified radiologist or specialist.

Travel to Client Locations

• Drive to various veterinary practices within a designated territory to provide on-site imaging services.
• Transport and set up ultrasound equipment in various clinical environments.

Patient Handling and Comfort

• Safely restrain or assist in positioning animals for optimal imaging while minimizing stress and ensuring patient comfort.
• Collaborate with clinic staff to ensure a calm and efficient workflow.

Data Management & Reporting

• Upload scans and ensure accurate labeling of images.
• Communicate scan notes, findings, and case details to internal specialists or referring veterinarians.

Client and Clinic Communication

• Maintain professional and courteous relationships with veterinary staff and clients.
• Educate clinic staff on ultrasound capabilities and assist in case selection when needed.

Equipment Care

• Maintain and clean ultrasound machines and related gear.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate maintenance or calibration as needed.

Compliance & Protocol Adherence

• Follow all safety, sanitation, and animal welfare guidelines.
• Adhere to company protocols for scan technique, data handling, and communication.

Qualifications

• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
• Strong passion for animals and high-quality patient care
• Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license (this is a mobile position)
• Ability to work independently and thrive in varied clinical settings
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Valid passport (for potential training opportunities in Canada)
