Heartstrings Pet Hospice invites Veterinarians to join our private, family-owned practice providing in-home hospice and compassionate euthanasia care across Des Moines, Beaverdale, Pleasant Hill, and surrounding areas in Iowa. We offer 2-, 3-, 4-, and 5-day schedules with balance-friendly hours and supportive leadership.

Our model emphasizes professional independence, meaningful medicine, and work-life balance, with no corporate pressure and no veterinarian non-compete agreements.

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD or equivalent veterinary degree.
• Active North Carolina veterinary license or eligibility.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Compassionate heart and commitment to exceptional end-of-life care.
• Availability on a schedule that includes some weekends.
• Hospice experience not required; training provided.

Responsibilities

We offer 2-Day, 3-Day, 4-Day, and 5-Day employment opportunities throughout Des Moines, Beaverdale & Pleasant Hill - Iowa and surrounding communities. Our compensation structure is designed to reward your dedication while providing financial stability, with 4-Day positions starting at $90,000 annually and 5-day positions offering a $125,000 annual base salary, plus additional Quarterly Performance-Based Bonus Opportunities. Our Two, Three-Day and Self-Managed Flex Scheduling Opportunities Available with Pro-Rated Compensation adjusted based on the agreed-upon schedule.
