Job summary

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking veterinarians to provide in-home hospice and humane euthanasia care throughout the Charlotte area. This is a full-time and part-time opportunity with flexible scheduling to support work-life balance.

You’ll work directly with families to deliver compassionate medical care in their homes, coordinate visits with our support team, and ensure a respectful end-of-life experience while maintaining professional autonomy.

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD or equivalent veterinary degree required.
• Active NC veterinary license or eligibility.
• Excellent communication with clients and families.
• Ability to provide compassionate in-home hospice and euthanasia care.
• Availability including some weekends.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate in-home hospice and humane euthanasia care.
• Coordinate with families to plan visit timing and aftercare.
• Provide medical decision making in home settings and document care.

Who We're Looking For

• DVM/VMD or equivalent veterinary degree
• Active North Carolina veterinary license or eligibility

  Hospice experience is not required. We'll support you as you transition into this meaningful field of veterinary medicine.

  We offer 2-Day, 3-Day, 4-Day, and 5-Day employment opportunities throughout Charlotte, Waxhaw, Concord, Matthews, Huntersville, Monroe, NC, and surrounding communities.

  Our compensation structure is designed to reward your dedication while providing financial stability, with 4-Day positions starting at $110,000 annually and 5-day positions offering a $135,000 annual base salary, plus additional Quarterly Performance-Based Bonus Opportunities.

  Our Two, Three-Day and Self-Managed Flex Scheduling Opportunities Available with Pro-Rated Compensation adjusted based on the agreed-upon schedule.
