Job summary

Mast Trucking / Central Service is seeking a skilled Road Service Technician for our Millersburg, OH location. You will diagnose, repair, and service semi-trucks and trailers in the field, communicating clearly with drivers and customers to ensure safe, efficient work.

You’ll work independently, decide whether repairs can be done on-site or require towing, and maintain accurate records while keeping the service truck and tools in good order.

Road Service Technician

Location: Millersburg, OH
Pay: $30–$40/hour, based on experience
Schedule: Regular scheduled hours + on-call
Company: Mast Trucking / Central Service

We’re looking for an experienced Road Service Technician working from our Millersburg location.

This position requires someone who knows trucks, can troubleshoot problems quickly, and can be trusted to make good decisions in the field. You'll work independently, communicate directly with drivers and customers, and determine the best way to get equipment safely back on the road.

What You'll Do

• Respond to roadside breakdowns and service calls

• Diagnose and repair semi-trucks and trailers in the field

• Troubleshoot electrical systems and use diagnostic software to identify and resolve issues

• Make repairs involving brakes, air systems, suspension, cooling systems, electrical systems, and other truck and trailer components

• Determine whether equipment can be safely repaired on-site or needs additional service or towing

• Make practical decisions about repairs, parts, time, and cost

• Communicate clearly with drivers, customers, vendors, and the shop

• Explain problems and recommended repairs in a straightforward, professional way

• Keep accurate records of service calls, repairs, parts, and work completed

• Take care of the service truck, tools, and equipment assigned to you

• Be available for service calls outside of regular scheduled hours when on call

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 3 years of experience working on semi-trucks and trailers

• Strong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic skills

• Comfortable using computers and diagnostic software to troubleshoot equipment

• Able to diagnose problems and complete repairs independently in the field

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with drivers, customers, vendors, and other shops

• Good judgment when deciding what needs repaired, what can wait, and what makes sense from a cost standpoint

• Able to represent Mast Trucking / Central Service professionally when working with customers or on the road

• Reliable and willing to be on call outside of regular scheduled hours

• Own basic hand tools

• Takes pride in doing repairs correctly

• CDL is helpful, but not required

We care about experience, ability, judgment, and how you handle yourself when you're working on your own.

$30–$40/hour based on experience and ability.

We're looking for someone with at least three years of truck and trailer experience who can diagnose problems, make repairs, communicate well, and make good decisions without needing someone there to walk them through it.

• Previous experience working on semi-trucks and trailers or similar over-the-road equipment

• Be able to pass background check and drug screen
