Job summary

Schneider National is seeking a Mobile Trailer Technician to perform on-site maintenance in North Smithfield, RI. You will handle maintenance on trucks, containers and trailers, with a service truck provided and stocked with necessary tools and parts.

The role requires travel to customer sites, valid license and DOT medical card, and the ability to work independently. Starting wages range from $28.80 to $36.00 per hour, with weekend differential for non-exempt shifts.

Qualifications

• Technical degree in diesel technology or related field.
• Minimum 1 year trailer technician experience or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet DMV standards.
• DOT medical card or ability to attain within 30 days.
• Basic welding skills and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Own tools to be provided within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site maintenance on trucks, containers and trailers.
• Complete inspections, diagnoses and work estimations.
• Communicate status updates to Schneider drivers and internal customers.
• Travel to on-site customers as required.
