Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s license in state of residency with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug test and participate in random drug/alcohol program.
• Basic understanding of food-grade tank trailer components and systems.
• Willingness to learn and work as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality and work standards.
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in varying environmental conditions.
• Ability to work any schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to read and understand technical service manuals.
• Preferred: welding certification, AWS certification, knowledge of 3A procedures and finishes for food-grade inner barrel repair.

Responsibilities

• The Trailer Technician plays a vital role in maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs of food-grade tank, van, and reefer trailers.
• conduct routine inspections to ensure cleanliness and integrity of trailers.
• Inspect mechanical, electrical, reefer units and attachment systems in accordance with DOT/FMCSA requirements.
• Assist in cleaning and sanitization of interiors and exteriors following industry standards.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as brake adjustments, tire changes, reefer services and repairs, lighting, floor repairs, fenders and mudflaps.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and cleaning activities.
• Comply with safety and sanitation guidelines and federal/state regulations.
• Use diagnostic tools, hand tools, and specialized equipment.
• Maintain shop equipment by following instructions, troubleshooting, maintaining supplies, and calling for repairs.
• Travel within designated region for service calls and temporary roadside maintenance.
• Participate in training programs to develop technical skills.
• Other duties as assigned.
