Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking a Mobile Trailer Technician to perform general to moderate repairs on trailer chassis, bodies, and accessories. Work is primarily at customer locations and trailer yards, with emphasis on chassis lube, DOTs, brake work, and reefer repair as needed.

The role requires two years of trailer repair experience, aluminum/steel MIG and TIG welding, and a valid driver’s license. Candidates should be comfortable reading repair orders and performing basic electrical and

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years’ experience in trailer repair.
• Certified aluminum and steel welding; MIG and TIG welding.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Body Shop or Service Manager daily.
• Review repair orders and notes before starting work.
• Complete repairs per documentation on orders and supplements.
• Perform aluminum/steel welding MIG and TIG.
• DOT inspections on semi-trailers.
• Diagnose basic 12-volt electrical lighting systems.
• Understand air brake and ABS systems.
