Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of 15+ technicians, providing guidance and leadership.
- Conduct regular coaching and mentoring sessions with team members.
- Monitor team performance using metrics, reports, and records, and implement improvements.
- Travel frequently to technician and customer locations.
- Participate in meetings with various organizational functions.
- Ensure compliance with safety, DOT, environmental, and organizational policies.
- Oversee onboarding activities for new technicians.
- Conduct safety audits and quality control inspections.
- Assist in developing and adhering to monthly budgets.
- Coordinate with team members to set productivity goals.
- Collaborate with dispatch and sales teams to optimize technician schedules.
- Delegate repair calls and coordinate work assignments.
- Participate in safety meetings and enforce safety procedures.
- Provide technical guidance and support to management and technicians.
- Work with customers to meet vehicle maintenance needs and serve as liaison.
- Facilitate communication across departments to resolve issues.
- Provide technicians with operational procedures and monitor inventory levels.
- Interview, hire, and train new technicians.
- Coordinate with HR, Parts, Fleet Management, IT, and other departments to resolve technician-related issues.
- Operate company vehicle for travel to work sites.
- Perform technician duties as needed, including preventive maintenance and repairs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 6 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 1 year of management or lead experience.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
- Must be at least 21 years old due to interstate commerce regulations.
- Skills in coaching, mentoring, and managing technicians.
- Knowledge of mobile maintenance practices and challenges.
- Ability to coordinate multiple efforts and act with urgency.
- Strong ethics, values, and customer focus.
- Proficiency with IT systems like dispatch software, Workday, Salesforce, Kronos, Power BI, etc.
- Excellent listening, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
