Job summary

LB Smith Ford is seeking a Mobile Service Technician to perform light duty vehicle service at the customer's location. This on-site role requires hands-on diagnostics and repairs. You will use Ford IDS scan tool for software updates, document intake details, and collaborate with Service Advisors to communicate repairs.

A strong toolbox and dependable work ethic are essential. The position focuses on mobile servicing, with on-site duties across customer sites and maintaining safety and accuracy

Qualifications

• Three years related experience is required.
• Excellent mechanical repair skills are required.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals is required.
• Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and software is required.
• Ability to read work orders.

LB Smith has an immediate opening for a MobileService Technician to join our team. In this role, the Mobile Service Technician will perform light duty services on-site at the customer's location.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair issues with vehicles.
• Utilize Ford IDS scan tool equipment for software updates to vehicles.
• Properly document all information about vehicles during the intake process.
• Work closely with Service Advisors for communications to/from the customer regarding the repairs.
• Maintain a personal tool set with everything needed for diagnostics and repair.
• Keep detailed records of all parts, fluids, and time associated with each project via the dealership software.
• Maintain a clean and safe work vehicle.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three years of related experience.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

• Basic Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Skills

• High Skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical and Work Environment

• Majority of work will be done on site a customer’s locations.
• Long periods of driving and siting in vehicle.
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs. regularly.
• Must be able to inspect vehicle to determine repairs needed.
• Good vision to inspect repair work.
• Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
