Job summary

Crestwood Behavioral Health is seeking a Mobile Response Peer Support Specialist to join the Napa Crisis Stabilization Unit. You will provide peer support during mobile crisis interventions, guided by licensed clinicians, helping individuals on their recovery journey across campuses and the community.

In this role, you will use lived experience to mentor and advocate, participate in stabilization efforts, and coordinate with the MRT to connect individuals with needed services and care.

Qualifications

• Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist certification or ability to obtain after hire
• 80-hour Peer Support Learning or equivalent completed within 90 days of hire
• Mental health/SUD lived experience required or demonstrated on the job

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support in mobile crisis under supervision of LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC
• Engage in mentoring, advocacy, and relationship-building for individuals in recovery
• Support crisis de-escalation and stabilization as part of Mobile Response Team (MRT) in Napa County

Title: Mobile Response Peer Support Specialist

Job Duties

The Peer Support Specialist is an entry-level role designated to provide peer support work under the direct supervision of an LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC. The Peer Support Specialist is responsible for assisting and supporting individuals in a mobile crisis in our Mobile Response Program. The Peer Support Specialist will engage in a range of activities to support individuals seeking recovery from substance abuse disorder, mental illness, or both. Activities may include mentoring, advocating for people in recovery, and building relationships. The Crestwood Behavioral Health Mobile Response Team (MRT) provides community-based interventions for those experiencing a mental health crisis. Our team is available to deploy into the community to provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, and stabilization. The MRT is staffed by Licensed/Registered Mental Health Counselors and Peer Support Specialists who can provide services throughout Napa County, including residences, parks, shelters, schools, and hospitals. The goal of MRT is to de-escalate the crisis and safely connect individuals with mental health care and resources.

Schedule

Full-Time 12-Hour Shifts: Sat-Mon (9:00PM to 9:00AM)

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma/GED.
• A mental health/SUD lived experience.
• Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist certification or ability to obtain after hire within an agreed upon time frame.
• 80-hour Peer Support Learning or equivalent – successfully completed within 90 days of hire or has taken the training within 2-years of hire.
• Has current techniques of behavioral intervention training within six (6) months of hire.

Crestwood's Mobile Crisis Services program through our Napa Crisis Stabilization Unit provides crisis services as part of a 24-hour crisis response continuum of care. Our program services are centered on crisis stabilization that utilizes evidence-based practices and features peer support. Our Mobile Crisis Services include screening, assessment, stabilization, de-escalation, follow up, and coordination with healthcare services and other supports.
