Job summary

First Response Rail Service, Inc. seeks a dependable Mobile Railcar Repair Technician who travels to customer locations in a company-owned Freightliner service truck to inspect, maintain, and repair railcars.

This role combines hands-on mechanical and welding work with safe operation of a commercial vehicle. Responsibilities include mobile inspections, diagnosing and repairing railcar components, welding, maintaining records, and adhering to DOT/OSHA safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Valid Class B CDL and clean driving record.
• Must meet DOT medical and commercial driver requirements.
• Experience in railcar repair, diesel, heavy equipment, or industrial maintenance preferred.
• Ability to read work orders, inspection reports, and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Freightliner service truck to customer sites and repair locations.
• Perform mobile inspections, maintenance, and railcar repairs.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine repairs.
• Weld, cut, grind, fabricate as required.
• Maintain logs, inspection forms, and service records.
