Job summary

Motion Recruitment Partners LLC is seeking a Mobile QA Engineer (Android & Retail Hardware) to own manual testing for the core Android application in our New York lab. This onsite role requires coordinating with a small team across onsite and offshore engineers and involves validating checkout flows on proprietary hardware.

The contract is 6 months with a strong extension likelihood, paying $30–$35/hour on W2.

Qualifications

3 to 5+ years of QA experience with Android testing and ecommerce.
Hands-on testing on physical devices or hardware environments.
Experience with API validation and network inspection using Postman.
Experience with TestRail or Jira for bug tracking and test reporting.
Experience with POS peripherals or smart retail hardware is a plus.
Basic exposure to test automation (Appium/Selenium) and willingness to learn.
Must be NYC area-based and authorized to work in the US (W2 only).

Responsibilities

Perform in-person functional, exploratory, and regression testing on Android hardware in the New York lab.
Validate end-to-end checkout journeys including camera vision inputs and payment handoffs.
Document hardware-software integration defects, latency issues, and edge-case transaction failures.
Collaborate with onsite developers, product managers, and offshore teams to troubleshoot issues and track fixes.
Serve as a testing subject matter expert, advising stakeholders and client teams on proper test procedures.
Build, execute, and maintain manual test plans to ensure retail devices operate in live stores.
