Job summary

Smart Care is seeking a Preventive Commercial Kitchen Service Technician in Hartford, CT. This role requires on-site service of commercial cooking, refrigeration and ware-washing equipment, with on-the-job training and potential for CFESA certification.

Qualified candidates will have at least a high school diploma, 1 year of technical experience in related fields, and the ability to travel and be on-call. A company vehicle and solid benefits package support career growth and service excellence.

Qualifications

• 1 year of technical experience with refrigeration, kitchen equipment, HVAC, or relevant military service.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable motor vehicle record.
• Willingness and ability to be involved with the emergency on-call rotation that includes nights and weekends.
• Availability for occasional overnight travel as assigned.
• Immigration sponsorship not provided for this role.

Responsibilities

• Partner with restaurant and hospitality managers to service commercial cooking, refrigeration, ware-washing and related equipment.
• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills and ability to read diagrams/schematics.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair cooking, refrigeration, ware-washing and other equipment.
• Communicate with manufacturers for diagnoses and parts identification.
• Consult with the Technical Assistance Group for on-site support.
• Install all parts ordered for the customer in a timely and professional manner.
• Promote and recommend other Smart Care services when needed.
• Produce accurate work orders, time reporting, receipts and truck stock inventory.
• Follow safe work practices and accident prevention procedures.
• Maintain a neat and orderly service vehicle and inventory.
