Job summary

UnitedHealth Group’s IL Home Health unit is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to support patients in the Chicago area, covering Englewood, Chatham and Hyde Park. You will implement treatment plans under a supervising PT and help patients gain mobility and independence.

The role requires state licensure/registration, CPR, a valid driver’s license, and weekend availability. You will work in patients’ homes, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and participate in a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy.
• Current CPR certification.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance or access to a dependable vehicle.
• Ability to function in any home situation regardless of client demographics.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws governing home physical therapy and perform only procedures defined by the supervising PT.
• Instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, gait, and ADL training.
• Observe, record, and report patient responses; coordinate care with the health team.
• Instructs patient, family, and other care team members in therapy within the PTA scope.
