Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our patient-centered laboratories team. You will perform venipunctures and skin punctures to obtain specimens for analysis, while ensuring proper labeling and processing. Collaboration with clinical and non-clinical staff supports a safe, high-quality patient experience.

Responsibilities also include mentoring new staff, handling inventory, and adhering to safety protocols. A valid driver's license and ASCP certification are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) is required.
• Related work experience is required.
• Certified Phlebotomy Technician with ASCP certification and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures and skin punctures to obtain blood specimens per CLSI guidelines.
• Label, accession, and process specimens accurately and promptly.
• Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure patient safety.
• Mentor students and new employees in phlebotomy practices.
• Maintain inventory and follow safety protocols across site operations.
