Job summary

MobilexUSA in Wareham, MA seeks a full-time phlebotomy driver to collect samples at client sites, primarily nursing homes. You will transport supplies, identify patients, and ensure proper labeling and delivery of specimens.

This role requires venipuncture skills, a valid state license if applicable, and a clean driving record. Compensation includes mileage reimbursement and benefits consistent with a full-time position.

Responsibilities

  • Drive to client facilities, typically nursing homes, as directed by dispatcher.
  • Unload phlebotomy supplies and take to patient bedside to collect samples ordered by physician.
  • Identify patient before collecting specimen(s).
  • Collect, label, process, and deliver specimens obtained from patients.
  • Reload equipment and all necessary specimens to vehicle for prompt delivery.
  • Regularly communicate with dispatcher to report status and location.
  • Adhere to Universal Precautions to prevent infection exposure.
  • Maintain required certifications and health/operational requirements.

Job Overview

Full Time Shift: Monday-Friday with rotating weekends and holidays

Pay Range: $17.50-$19.75 per hour based on experience and mileage reimbursement

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Drive vehicle to client facilities, typically nursing homes, as directed by company dispatcher.
  • Unload phlebotomy supplies and take to patient’s bedside to collect samples ordered by physician.
  • Accurately identify patient before collecting specimen(s).
  • Accurately collect, label, process, and deliver specimens obtained from patients.
  • Reload equipment and all necessary specimens to vehicle for prompt delivery.
  • Regularly communicate with dispatcher to report status and location.
  • Strict adherence to Universal Precautions in controlling blood-borne pathogens and infectious disease exposures.
  • Maintain required certifications, health requirements, and operational requirements.
Required Skills
  • Practice excellent communication and interaction skills specific to the population served, including the pediatric and geriatric communities.
  • Treat customers and patients with respect, dignity, and discretion; acknowledging residents' rights and patients' right to refuse.
  • Have a current, valid State phlebotomy license, if applicable.
  • Have a current, valid State Driver’s license; car insurance; good driving record; possess a vehicle in good working condition suitable to meet daily driving requirements.
  • Proficient in venipuncture and skin puncture using both vacutainer and syringe techniques.
  • Knowledge of laboratory operations.
  • Maintain sterile, sanitary conditions to prevent contamination.
