Job summary

MobilexUSA is seeking a Mobile Phlebotomist to perform pre-analytical lab tasks at client sites, primarily in mobile settings. You will complete routes safely and efficiently, collecting and delivering specimens while following all policies.

The role requires phlebotomy training and a valid state license (where applicable), plus a clean driving record and strong communication with patients and dispatchers.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in venipuncture and skin puncture techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Drive vehicle to client facilities, typically nursing homes, as directed.
  • Unload supplies and collect samples at patient bedside.
  • Accurately identify patients before collecting specimens.
  • Collect, label, process, and deliver specimens.
  • Reload equipment and specimens to vehicle for prompt delivery.
  • Communicate with dispatcher to report status and location.
  • Strictly adhere to Universal Precautions for blood-borne pathogens.
  • Maintain required certifications, health requirements, and operational standards.

Job description

Schedule & Compensation

Full Time Shift: Monday-Friday. Available Shifts: 4:30 am-12:30pm / 5:00 am-1:00pm / 5:30 am-1:30pm every other weekend. Pay range: $17.40-$21.50 based on experience, mileage reimbursement.

Role

The Mobile Phlebotomist, under the general supervision of the Area Phlebotomy Supervisor (APS) works to provide clinical pre-analytical laboratory services to our clients/patients in a mobile setting. The employee is responsible for completing assigned routes in a safe and timely manner and must follow all policies and procedures.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Drive vehicle to client facilities, typically nursing homes, as directed.
  • Unload supplies and collect samples at patient bedside.
  • Accurately identify patients before collecting specimens.
  • Collect, label, process, and deliver specimens.
  • Reload equipment and specimens to vehicle for prompt delivery.
  • Communicate with dispatcher to report status and location.
  • Strictly adhere to Universal Precautions for blood-borne pathogens.
  • Maintain required certifications, health requirements, and operational standards.
Required Skills
  • Excellent communication and interaction skills, including with pediatric and geriatric populations.
  • Treat customers and patients with respect, dignity, and discretion; acknowledge rights to refuse.
  • Current, valid State phlebotomy license, if applicable.
  • Current, valid State driver’s license; car insurance; good driving record; vehicle in good working condition.
  • Proficient in venipuncture and skin puncture using vacutainer and syringe techniques.
  • Knowledge of laboratory operations.
  • Maintain sterile, sanitary conditions to prevent contamination.
Professional Experience/Educational Requirements
  • High School diploma.
  • Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program, or adequate phlebotomy experience.
  • Six months minimum experience in phlebotomy with emphasis in acute hospital, dialysis, pediatrics, or geriatrics.
  • Clean driving record within company policy.
  • Current proof of auto insurance coverage.
  • Valid driver’s license.
