Job summary

The Virginia Department of Health seeks a Dental Assistant B to support its mobile school-based preventive dental services program. You will work with a licensed Dental Hygienist and assist with patient management, screenings, and delivery of preventive services in school and community settings.

This hourly-wage position focuses on setting up portable equipment, maintaining records, promoting the program, and coordinating referrals, with up to 1500 hours annually and no benefits.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of dentistry techniques and procedures and the use of standard equipment.
• Experience working on a team.
• Experience working with dentist or dental hygienist providing '4-handed dental' services.

Responsibilities

• Support mobile school-based preventive dental services program, including setup and breakdown of portable equipment and patient management.
• Coordinate with Dental Hygienist and staff to deliver preventive services and educational outreach.
