Job summary

Bay Area Community Health seeks an Optometrist to perform routine vision and ocular examinations, under supervision, in a Mobile Van setting in Fremont, CA. Responsibilities include prescribing lenses, basic ocular treatments, and referrals to specialists as needed.

The role requires California licensure, board certification with glaucoma credentials, and a optometry degree earned from an accredited program. Per diem position with travel to sites; bilingual abilities are a plus.

Qualifications

• Maintains all licensing requirements for the State of California.
• Board certified with TPA and TLG/TPG Glaucoma certification.
• Graduate of a school or college of Optometry, accredited by State Board of Optometry.
• Two (2) years of experience preferred.
• Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and correct refractive errors incl. myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, amblyopia.
• Prescribe eyeglasses and ocular medications as needed.
• Order and interpret tests to detect ocular disorders (glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, etc.).
• Manage patient care and refer to specialists when appropriate.
• Document clinical findings clearly and accurately.
