Job summary

The SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, Office of Mental Health, is seeking a Mental Health Professional I to provide counseling and case management for adults in Charleston and surrounding areas. The role involves direct patient care, documentation, and collaboration to support long-term wellness.

You'll work primarily with the Highway to Hope program, traveling to locations, conducting evidenced-based interventions, and ensuring QA standards.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in guidance, counseling, social sciences or related field required.
• Clinical experience with direct patient care documented via practicum/internship or post-graduate work.
• Willingness to drive between locations and lift up to 5 pounds; RV driving may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality person-centered care using evidence-based clinical interventions.
• Deliver direct services credentialed by the Center and meet productivity expectations.
• Maintain documentation reflecting quality care and QA standards.
• Collaborate with the Center and community partners as part of a team.
• Ensure patient functionality is measured per established standards and QA.
• Oversee the Highway to Hope program operations and inter-agency collaboration.
