Cox Fleet is headquartered in Indianapolis and is one of the largest fleet‑maintenance companies in the country. We provide on‑site mobile maintenance and repair services nationwide for light, medium, and heavy‑duty trucks and trailers, supported by a 24/7 in‑house call center.

Job Summary

We are hiring a Medium Duty Automotive Technician for our recently acquired company, Corcoran Fleet Services, to support future growth. The role involves performing preventive maintenance inspections, light repairs, diagnostics, DOT inspections, and other duties at customer locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work on light/medium‑duty vehicles such as F‑150, F‑250, and F‑350, including specialty equipment.
  • Travel is required 100% of the time; service multiple customers in your area and statewide.
  • Follow a rotating schedule: Mon‑Fri the first week, Mon‑Sat the second week (home every day).
  • Always follow and comply with safe operating practices and procedures.
  • Travel to and perform work at customer locations, mostly outside.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (“PM”), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light and medium vehicles.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment.
  • Use hand tools, precision instruments, and some diesel tools, lifts, and jacks.
  • Perform minor adjustments and repairs on electrical, braking, cooling, starting/alternator, fan clutch, and engine electronics systems in gas‑only engines and manual/automatic transmissions.
  • Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical, brake, cooling, fan clutch, engine electronics, diesel steering, transmissions, clutches, and differential systems.
  • Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using scanners and pressure gauges.
  • Identify problems, determine accuracy and relevance of information, and generate alternatives using sound judgment.
  • Independently determine parts required, order, and pick up parts for installation.
  • Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies, OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
  • Document work, upload pictures of performed work and parts used on Repair Orders (“RO”), and maintain paper records.
  • Accurately complete DOT forms and all other documentation in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment; assist in cleanup each day for tools, parts, and equipment.
  • Apply knowledge gained through formal training or on‑the‑job experience; work with and evaluate technical information related to the job.
  • Work with the support team to assess customer needs, provide assistance, and resolve problems.
  • Manage concurrent tasks, prioritizing activities and time allocations effectively.
  • Act with integrity, demonstrate honesty, keep commitments, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Maintain high productivity and work within or close to standard repair times.
  • Communicate with support teams in corporate offices for approvals on repair estimates, purchase orders, and RO findings.
  • Participate in all company‑required safety training.
  • Maintain the assigned service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and perform daily pre/post‑trip inspections.
  • Adhere to company policies, processes, and procedures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record; driver required.
  • Possess and supply a complete set of hand tools necessary for the job.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as an Automotive Technician on light/medium vehicle repair or equivalent technical education/certification/skill/experience.
  • Two years of equivalent experience in a similar Technician role.
  • Participate in and complete all company‑required training.
