Job summary

Specialty Granules LLC is seeking a maintenance technician in California to maintain and repair a wide range of mobile power equipment, including air compressors, trucks, bulldozers, and loaders. You will perform preventive maintenance, repairs on gas and diesel engines, and assist in engine disassembly and reassembly.

The role requires the ability to read schematics, use diagnostic tools, and weld as needed.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to drive mobile equipment and repair engines, brakes, and fuel systems.
• Familiarity with electronic diagnostic equipment for mobile equipment.
• Able to perform preventive maintenance and simple welding.
• Work from schematics/diagrams and use basic shop tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair a wide variety of mobile power equipment.
• Perform maintenance and repair on equipment such as air compressors, trucks, bulldozers, loaders, etc.
• Assist in engine and engine accessory removal, disassembly, repair and reassembly.
• Perform ignition, fuel system, and carburetion adjustments.

Company Introduction:Over 90 years of quality products and superior service.Job Summary:Essential DutiesMaintain and repair a wide variety of mobile power equipment.Perform maintenance and repair work on equipment such as, mobile air compressors, small trucks, haul trucks, dump trucks, bulldozers, fork lift trucks, graders, front-end loaders, etc.Complete repairs on gas and diesel powered equipment.Assist in the removal, dismantle, repair, re-assembly, testing and installing engines and engine accessories.These assemblies include but not limited to: transmissions (manual and automatic), differentials, clutches, torque converters, steering systems, brake systems, hydraulic cylinders, hose assemblies, etc.Assist in repairing and adjusting ignition, fuel injection and carburetion systems.Inspect equipment and perform preventive maintenance duties.Lubricate equipment, change and repair tires, change and charge batteries, put on and remove tire chains, etc., as necessary.Utilize hand tools, power tools, and handheld diagnostic equipment.Use steam jenny to clean equipment.Complete acetylene burning and simple welding.Keep work area and tools clean and orderly.Perform other duties as required or assigned.Ensure the plant area meets or exceeds all safety standards for SGI (guards, walkways…etc.) and all work is performed safely.Qualifications RequiredH.S.
