Job summary

Sunrise Community is seeking a Direct Support Nurse to provide basic healthcare services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role involves following each individual’s health plan and working closely with Direct Support Professionals to meet needs.

You will perform tasks like vital signs, documentation, and coordination of care, with travel between Orlando and Daytona Beach expected. An active Practical Nurse license and driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Must pass pre-employment Background and Drug Screenings.
• Must possess a valid Driver's License with at least 3 years driving experience.
• Must possess basic computer skills.
• Must possess current and valid license for Practical Nurse.
• Experience working with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred.
• Must be willing to travel between Orlando and Daytona Beach.

Responsibilities

• Assists in providing basic healthcare services according to the individual’s plan ensuring each individual’s optimal health and wellbeing.
• Performs tasks as delegated, such as blood pressure monitoring, weights, and other assigned tasks.
• Ensures all documentation is accurate and complete according to regulations.
• Responsible for the organization and cleanliness of supplies and equipment, ensuring restocking of inventory.
• Collaborates with Direct Support Professionals to ensure that the needs of the individuals are being met.
• Communicates immediately any changes in medical or behavioral status to supervisor.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
