Job summary

Alameda County Library is seeking a Mobile Library Driver-Clerk to operate a Mobile Library across Alameda County. The role includes loading and unloading materials, driving to various sites, and delivering friendly public service.

The ideal candidate will have a Class B license with air brake certification, a clean driving record, and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Training and safety requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Six months full-time experience as a Library Page or higher-level classification in the County of Alameda classified service.
• Six months full-time experience driving a vehicle of at least 18,000-pound gross vehicle weight (GVW) capacity.
• Valid California Class B Driver's license with air brake certification; DMV evidence required at time of application; clean driving record for past 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Drive a Mobile Library to locations throughout Alameda County.
• Load and unload library materials for the Mobile Library.
• Provide customer service to the public in person and via other channels.
• Assist with clerical work and routine maintenance of library equipment and materials.
