Job summary

JLL in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Mobile Engineer to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment across HVAC, electrical, and other systems. You will specialize in one craft and be multi-skilled in others to support daily operations.

Responsibilities include preventive and repair work orders, HVAC and electrical distribution maintenance, safety compliance, and coordination with the Facility Management team as well as contractors.

Job Summary:

The Mobile Engineer has a strong focus on operating, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing facility equipment on all systems. To successfully complete daily/weekly work assignments, the Mobile Engineer is expected to demonstrate technical expertise in one craft area (e.g. Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, etc.) and be multi-skilled in others.

Areas of Responsibility
  • Maintenance
    • Performance of ongoing preventive and repair response work orders on facility mechanical, electrical and other installed systems, equipment, and other components.
    • Maintain, operate, and repair all HVAC systems and associated equipment, electrical distribution equipment, plumbing systems, building interior/exterior repair, and related grounds as it pertains to assigned buildings.
    • Maintain HVAC systems and equipment at optimum levels (e.g., cleaning, inspecting, changing parts).
    • Study and become familiar with the various items of equipment, and the methods required to use them properly, that are required in everyday activities.
    • Monitor pricing and work quality of outside contractors.
    • Where necessary, record readings and adjust to ensure proper operation of equipment.
    • Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on as found conditions impacting satisfactory client occupancy and operations.
    • Review monthly Client Service Request summaries to pinpoint and correct recurrent operational problems.
    • Respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
    • Assist the Facility Management team with emergency situations (e.g., fire alarms, chemical spills, hazardous conditions, inoperative critical equipment) and take appropriate actions.
  • Safety
    • Complete Hazard Assessments as necessary
    • Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas. Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them.
    • Maintain compliance to State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws.
    • Must complete all required safety training as scheduled
    • Practice Defensive Driving at all times
  • Driving
    • Position requires a valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record.
    • Driving for long periods of time.
  • Administrative
    • Submit P-card Receipts Daily
    • Update work order status in real time
    • Utilize CMMS systems such as Corrigo for all work performed.
    • Perform Vehicle Safety Inspection
    • Escalating problems or issues to Customer and Manager in a timely manner
    • Attend work and safety meetings as required
    • All other duties and tasks assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to perform all work using the proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Strong Customer Service skills
  • Strong Interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of computer applications, including Word and Excel
Education/Training
  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of two years of college or related trade schooling
  • Minimum of four years’ experience in the electrician trade or related field – or minimum of four-years’ experience in the HVAC/refrigeration trade or related field
Other abilities
  • Must be available for Call-in work and perform other duties as required.
  • Certifications/licenses
    • HVAC technicians must have a Universal CFC recovery certification (or within 90 days of employment)
    • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
    • Licenses as required by authority having jurisdiction
  • Physical work requirements and work conditions
    • Lifting up to 80 lbs.
    • Working from heights.
    • Frequently climbing, bending, lifting, kneeling, stooping, and working/extending overhead.
    • Working in adverse conditions (i.e., extreme cold, extreme hot).
    • Climbing a ladder with a 300 lb weight limit while carrying a tool bag weighing approximately 20 lbs.
    • Climbing a ladder up to 30 feet.

Expected compensation for this position:

85,280.00 – 89,440.00 USD per year

Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
