Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced facilities engineer to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on commercial HVAC systems at multiple client sites in the Atlanta area. The role includes electrical, plumbing, and building automation work, with responsibilities for CMMS work orders and on-site inspections.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in commercial building engineering, EPA/CFC certification, and the ability to travel between client locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of technical experience in commercial building engineering (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
• EPA/CFC certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on commercial HVAC systems and related equipment.
• Maintain electrical distribution, plumbing, building automation, and fire/life safety systems.
• Execute work orders using CMMS with minimal supervision.
• Travel to client locations within territory using company vehicle.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repair services on commercial HVAC systems, including packaged units, air handlers, chillers, boilers, and associated equipment
• Maintain, operate, and troubleshoot electrical distribution systems, plumbing systems, building automation controls, and fire/life safety systems
• Execute assigned work orders using CMMS technology with minimal supervision
• Conduct facility inspections and due diligence assessments, reporting conditions that impact client operations
• Travel to multiple client locations within assigned geographic territory using company vehicle
• Plan and prioritize work assignments independently across multiple sites
• Identify and recommend energy savings opportunities through system optimization
• Maintain professional client relationships and communicate effectively with property management teams
• Perform building envelope maintenance, interior/exterior repairs
• Operate and maintain production equipment as it pertains to assigned facilities
• Study and maintain proficiency with various building systems, equipment, and emerging technologies
• Respond to on-call duties and overtime requirements as business needs dictate

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; technical training or trade school degree preferred
• Minimum 4 years of technical experience in commercial building engineering with a strong background in HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
• Universal EPA/CFC certification (required)
• Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record
• Knowledge of overall MEP/HVAC system design and applications
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and work in various environmental conditions
