Job summary

JLL is seeking a Mobile Operating Engineer to travel between client properties in the Charlotte, NC area, operating and maintaining building systems to ensure comfort and energy efficiency. You will handle preventive maintenance, monitor BAS/EMS, and respond to issues across multiple sites.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in facilities operations, strong mechanical skills, and a valid driver’s license. This on-site role offers competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required, technical training preferred.
• 3–5 years in building maintenance or facilities operations.
• Experience with commercial building systems and BAS/EMS.
• Licenses such as stationary/universal engineer and EPA handling often required.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and monitor building automation systems.
• Coordinate across multiple client sites; respond to service requests.
• Adhere to safety standards, lockout/tagout, and regulatory requirements.
