Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA Inc. in Earth City, Missouri seeks a High Voltage Test Engineer to drive mobile HV testing at customer sites. You will operate a mobile test trailer, conduct HV tests, analyze results, and prepare reports, while supporting transformer service activities and ensuring regulatory compliance. Travel 40-60% depending on location; collaboration with field crews and engineering teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with five or more years of experience, or a combination of studies and ten years or more of transformer experience.
• Experience performing transformer testing and supporting field service operations.
• Knowledge of IEEE, IEC, and NEMA industry standards.
• Experience using Microsoft Office 365 and preparing technical reports.
• Hands-on experience performing low voltage testing such as winding resistance, turns ratio, excitation, and power factor is preferred.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a mobile high voltage test trailer system.
• Perform applied voltage, induced voltage, partial discharge localization, and temperature rise testing.
• Investigate potential sources of partial discharge and develop corrective action plans.
• Analyze electrical test data and oil DGA results.
• Calibrate testing equipment.
• Maintain the electrical and electronic components of the mobile test system.
• Prepare technical test reports and test plans in support of proposal activities.
• Provide technical support to field crews and communicate with customers.
• Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
