Job summary

Ryder System in North Charleston, SC is looking for an Experienced Level Diesel Technician to service heavy- and medium-duty vehicles on 2nd shift. You will perform repairs, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance with a focus on quality and safety, while earning hourly pay and comprehensive benefits.

The role requires hands-on mechanical experience, tool readiness, and the ability to follow Ryder’s policies.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years or more experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment.
• Must have minimum tools required to perform their job duties as outlined in Ryder’s Maintenance policy 2.02.

Responsibilities

• Interact with customer, coordinate work schedule as required by customers, road test vehicles to identify cause of complaints and ensure quality of repair work.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs across A/C, brakes, and electrical systems as trained and qualified.
• Document repair orders in Ryder systems and maintain accurate records.
• Mentor junior technicians and support mobile technician operations as needed.
• Adhere to safety, DOT, and company policies throughout all tasks.
