Job summary

Ryder is seeking a Mid-Level Diesel Technician in North Charleston, SC to maintain and repair heavy-duty vehicles. The role runs on a second shift from 1:30 pm to 10:30 pm and offers weekly pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Starting pay is $28.50 per hour with additional certification bonuses, quarterly bonuses, PTO from day one, and a 401(k) match. The position emphasizes safety, onboarding, and veteran-friendly policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or technical certification preferred.
• Basic tools, required.
• Two years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience in required experience, preferred.
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred.
• Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance.
• Performs standard component inspections and repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools.
• Identifies root cause of basic failures/conditions and performs repairs as required.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of the complaint.
• Follows Shop Management System and documentation procedures.
